The idea of belonging and migration has been a literary and artistic topos since Homer’s Odyssey. In recognising the importance of belonging and migration at the present moment, the 2019 UCD Humanities Institute Scholars’ Conference is seeking proposals from emerging scholars and artists who are engaging with competing concepts, perceptions, experiences and representations of migrants and migration. Organizers invite proposals for individual papers of 20 minutes, or 3-paper panel sessions, that address issues of migration, housing, the longing to belong and being at a distance from home.
